No, this site is not named after the movie – it came years before. Here you can find an index and reviews of search engines and subject catalogs in use at the time. The best? Alta Vista and Yahoo. Alta Vista had about 21 million indexed pages in late 1996. Compare that to the 200+ billion pages estimated to exist in 2009. Yes, the To Do list still remains 13 years later.
